Prime Management Services Completes Successful Conference on Human Factors of Wildfire
Prime Management Services managed the 2nd Human Dimension Conference of Wildland Fire for the International Association of Wildland Fire, held in San Antonio, Texas, April 25-29, 2010. The event started off with a bang, with several International attendees present. IAWF took a private day trip, pre-conference, with guides from the Texas Forest Service. This allowed attendees to stretch their legs, see some of the Texas countryside, but also allowed them to gain a good sense of the collaborative efforts between the Texas Forest Service and their counterparts in Emergency Management as they were on the site of the 2009 Wilderness Ridge wildfire. Conference organizer Anna Trott commented “The meeting was a tremendous success, as the pre-conference field trip allowed everyone to get some fresh air, network, and learn important lessons from previous fires”. The conference began on April 26th with several different sessions on the Human Aspect of Wildland Fire. The conference was highly beneficial due to the number of attendees from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Portugal, Netherlands, UK and of course, the USA. We had 3 tracks per day, as well as an opening and closing speaker which allowed attendees a wide variety of sessions to attend. Prime Management Services planned a full breakfast each morning with freshly brewed coffee, fruits, breads, eggs and meat. The attendees were also treated to a western style buffet and deli express buffet. A complimentary reception and afternoon sweets and treats were provided. Prime Management Services handled all the details; from planning the meals, to audio visual, to registration and even creating the layout and design of the program.
